Guided tour of Oudaen brewery
Want something a little different? Then a visit to a steam beer brewery in Utrecht might be for you. We can drop you off at the wharf cellar of Stadskasteel Oudaen before or after your trip. A brewery housed in a very special location in the vaults below street level. You will be guided by the brewer who enthusiastically explains the brewing process and lets you taste a home-brewed beer ( Ouwe Daen ). The following arrangements are possible:
- Guided tour I € 10.00 p.p. Duration approximately 30 minutes, a guided tour with explanation of the brewing process and tasting a glass of Ouwe Daen.
- Guided tour II € 13.50 p.p. Duration approximately 60 minutes, a guided tour with explanation of the brewing process, tasting of a glass of Ouwe Daen and a brewer’s snack.
- Guided Tour III € 18.00 p.p. Time approximately 90 minutes, a guided tour with explanation of the brewing process, tasting of three types of home-brewed beer and brewer’s bitters.
As of 10 people. Not a beer drinker or under 18? Oudaen is happy to serve an alternative in the form of soft drinks, coffee or tea.
Beer tasting on board at the Beer Teller
The Beer Teller is a household name in beer-loving Holland. He provides beer tastings throughout the country and now also in the Utrecht canals!
During your cruise, the Beer Storyteller will take you through the rich beer culture that is thriving like never before. From brewpub to brewery, IPA to stout and hops to malt in 12-centiliter tasting glasses.
Choose one of the following packages and be surprised!
1) “Classic Tasting”: 5 beers.
We taste classic styles and flavors. Duration: +/- 1.5 hours
First 10 participants: €230. From participant 11 onwards: €20 per person.
2) “Advanced tasting”: 5 beers.
An exciting tasting with more distinct beers. Duration: +/- 1.5 hours
First 10 participants: €250. From participant 11 onwards: €22 per person.
3) “Tasting extravaganza”: 6 beers.
A special beer arrangement for connoisseurs and big fans. Duration: +/- 2 hours.
First 10 participants: €290. From participant 11 onwards: €26.00 per person.
Culicombi’s can be added to all arrangements. These are carefully selected appetizers to go with specific beers, which provide taste fireworks.
With 2 beers a culicombi: €5 p.p.
With 3 beers a culicombi: €6 p.p.
